Performance upgrades for your BMW
From M340i to M5, we match the engine, gearbox and supporting hardware to how you actually drive.
B58 and B48 ECU tuning
Calibrations for the M340i, M240i, X3 M40i, Z4 M40i and 40i X models, plus the B48 2.0 turbo in 330i, 230i and X3 30i.
S55, S58 and S63 M engines
DMS software for the F80 M3, F82 M4 and M2 Competition, the G80 M3, G82 M4, G87 M2 and X3 M, plus the S63 V8 in M5 and X5 M.
Gearbox software
DMS gearbox software for the ZF 8-speed automatic and, where supported, the M DCT, for faster shifts and torque limits that suit the engine tune.

On N55 and B58 cars an aluminium charge pipe replaces the factory plastic part, which can crack under higher boost. We pair it with intake and intercooler upgrades.

Start where it makes sense for your car and budget, then build from there. Every stage is calibrated in-house.
DMS software on a standard car. On a B58 or S58 this is often the best value step, with a big improvement in midrange shove depending on the model.
Software built around a charge pipe, intake, intercooler and exhaust upgrades. Gearbox software is strongly recommended at this point.
Hybrid turbos with fuel system and cooling upgrades. We plan this per car and check the gearbox and engine internals are up to the job.

Before you tune your BMW
Check the known weak points
We look at the plastic charge pipe, oil filter housing and valve cover gaskets, coolant system and coil packs. Older N54 cars also need fuel pump and injector checks.
Newer ECUs may need a bench read
Some later BMWs have tighter ECU security and need the unit removed for reading. We confirm the process for your car before booking it in.
Gearbox matters
The ZF 8-speed handles a good amount of torque, but it shifts better with matching software. Manual cars need a clutch that suits the new output.
Fuel, warranty and insurance
We calibrate for 98 RON. Tuning can affect your BMW warranty and must be declared to your insurer, so think that through first.
BMW tuning questions
Yes, it is one of the strongest platforms around. Even Stage 1 makes a clear difference, and gains depend on the model, fuel and supporting mods.
It is not required at Stage 1 on most cars, but it improves shift speed and makes sure the gearbox does not limit the extra torque. We recommend it from Stage 2.
Yes, the S58 is well supported by DMS Automotive. Some cars need a bench read, which we handle in our Tullamarine workshop.
The factory plastic charge pipe on N55 and B58 engines can crack under higher boost and heat. An aluminium pipe is a sensible upgrade before or with a tune.
