Before you tune your Cupra
Health check and service
We check the cooling system, ignition, boost hoses and service history first. EA888 engines can leak from the water pump and thermostat housing, so we look closely.
DSG torque limits
The DSG has limits on how much torque it can handle. We recommend gearbox tuning once the engine goes beyond Stage 1.
Hybrids and EVs
The VZe plug-in hybrids have limited tuning options and the Born is electric. For these we focus on suspension, brakes and wheels.
Fuel, warranty and insurance
We calibrate for 98 RON. Tuning can affect your Cupra warranty and should be declared to your insurer.
Cupra tuning questions
Under the skin, yes, the Formentor and Leon share their 2.0 TSI and DSG with the Golf R and GTI. That means proven RacingLine parts and software are available.
Stage 1+ is RacingLine's calibration for cars fitted with a gasoline particulate filter. It is designed to work with the GPF still fitted.
Tuning options for the plug-in hybrid are limited. We can assess your car and help with suspension and brakes, and we will be upfront about software.
A well-calibrated Stage 1 feels just like standard around town, only stronger when you put your foot down. We test every car on the dyno and on the road.
